SANTA MONICA, Calif. – August 16, 2006 – Boingo Wireless, the world’s leading Wi-Fi service provider for business travelers, today announced it has entered the Malaysian market through a roaming agreement with Maxis, Malaysia’s leading wireless telecommunications company.

Maxis, a member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), has more than seven million mobile phone subscribers and operates a comprehensive Wi-Fi network, with 118 hot spots in prime locations frequented by the business travelers.  Key locations include the Business Center (Kuala Lumpur Airport), the Genting International Convention Center and the Mines Convention Center in addition to numerous retail locations, hotels, restaurants, cafés and coffee houses throughout Kuala Lumpur.

The addition of the Maxis network brings the total number of Southeast Asian hot spots in the Boingo Roaming System to nearly 1,800.  It follows similar roaming agreements in Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand, and reinforces Boingo as a pioneer and strategic player in the Asian Wi-Fi market.
