Press Releases   CONTACTS: Christian Gunning Boingo Wireless 310-586-4009 Boingo Appoints Tracy Allard Director of Sales for European Carriers Sales Veteran Tapped to Expand Boingo’s Platform Services SANTA MONICA, Calif. - March 29, 2004 - Boingo Wireless today announced it has hired Tracy Allard as director of European carrier sales, to expand Boingo’s relationships with major service providers throughout Europe that can use Boingo® Platform Services to offer Wi-Fi services to their customers. Allard reports to Tamara Steffens, vice president of carrier sales. “Europe is a strategic market for Boingo and we’re committed to adding new partnerships with carriers that want a truly global Wi-Fi service,” Steffens said. “Telecom Italia has already signed on, and we’re pleased that Tracy is on board to expand our reach across Europe. She brings powerful sales expertise and a knowledge of international markets to the team.” Allard will be responsible for continuing Boingo’s recent success in Europe. The company has added several new European roaming partners that have expanded its Boingo Roaming System to more than 3,000 hot spots under contract in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the U.K. Worldwide, the Boingo Roaming System is comprised of 6,300 hot spots under contract in 29 countries. Boingo’s Platform Services offering leverages this network to provide a turnkey Wi-Fi service for service providers that includes award-winning client software and a complete suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services. In addition to Telecom Italia, current Platform Services partners include MCI, Infonet Services, EarthLink and Fiberlink. Allard has more than 15 years of sales experience, most recently with mobile Internet software pioneer Openwave Systems Inc. There she managed accounts for Cingular, Verizon Online, ALLTEL and Bellsouth.net, among others. Allard also has held international sales management positions with Caterpillar Inc. and H.O. Penn Machinery Co. Inc. With this agreement, the Boingo Roaming System expands to include more than 70 network operators and 6,500 hot spots under contract worldwide. Boingo packages this roaming system, along with its end-user Wi-Fi software and a complete suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services into its Boingo Platform Services offering. Platform Service is a turnkey service that can be branded and launched by service providers as a low-cost, rapid time-to-market alternative to building their own networks. Current announced Platform Services customers include EarthLink, Fiberlink, Infonet Services, MCI and Telecom Italia.
