BOINGO ADDS KEY PARTNERS TO EXPAND WI-FI ROAMING NETWORK IN THE NETHERLANDS AND SWITZERLAND

Deals with KPN HotSpots in the Netherlands and The Public Network in Switzerland add more than 300 hot spots to the 11,000 locations included in the Boingo Roaming System

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - September 20, 2004 - Boingo Wireless today announced roaming agreements with KPN HotSpots and The Public Network (TPN) AG, which add nearly 300 Wi-Fi hot spots in key travel locations throughout the Netherlands and Switzerland to the Boingo® Roaming System.

The agreement with KPN HotSpots adds a high-profile partner and helps fuel Boingo's expansion in Northern Europe by adding 175 hot spots in the Netherlands to the Boingo Roaming System. Switzerland is a key location for Boingo's core audience of business travelers and the agreement with TPN adds 165 hot spot locations across the country to the Boingo network.

With the addition of these partners, Boingo's worldwide network includes more than 11,000 hot spots with 5,600 locations in Europe.

Boingo is developing a worldwide Wi-Fi network as part of its strategy to provide wholesale network access to service providers who want to begin or expand a Wi-Fi service offering. Through its Platform Services offering, Boingo offers these service providers a turnkey Wi-Fi offering, including the network, award-winning client access software, and a complete suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services.

The company has signed Platform Services agreements with five carriers, including three of the leaders in providing worldwide enterprise remote access: Fiberlink, Infonet Services Corp. and MCI. Other Platform Services partners include Telecom Italia and EarthLink.

"Thanks to our Platform Services partners, Boingo leads the market in providing Wi-Fi access for corporate remote access users and we know that convenience and hot spot ubiquity are critical elements in the growing use of Wi-Fi by corporate business travelers, and we are committed to developing a European network that meets these needs," said Dave Hagan, Boingo president and COO.

Agreement with KPN Expands Dutch Network

KPN's agreement with Boingo is a further move by the carrier to be the Wi-Fi market leader in The Netherlands. Earlier this year, KPN acquired HubHop B.V., one of the country's largest public hot spot providers, focused on providing Wi-Fi in hotels, restaurants, public plazas and other widely visited locations. Key locations in KPN's network include the Jaarbeurs exhibition and congress center and more than 75 hotels including the Van der Valk hotel chain and key Best Western hotels. KPN plans to grow the network to more than 400 locations in 2004.

"Public Wi-Fi shows impressive growth in The Netherlands, and we want to offer our customers the broadest hotspot coverage and we want to strengthen our market leadership in The Netherlands by offering the best quality for money" said Ardjan Konijnenberg, general manager of KPN HotSpots. "Working with Boingo will provide us additional traffic on our WI-FI network that will help us fuel our expansion."

The KPN hot spots are fully integrated into the Boingo Roaming System and available to users today.

TPN adds 165 Swiss Hot Spots

Wi-Fi usage is very popular in Switzerland due to the country's large international business community. TPN has concentrated its fast growing hot spot network in locations that are optimal for local and international business users. The footprint is nationwide, and includes airports, the vast majority of all highway rest stops, post offices, train stations and a number of business hotels such as the Novotel Technopark in Zurich and similar convention center hotels.

Usage is expected to accelerate rapidly in the coming months as soon as combined Wi-Fi/GSM handsets come to market and allow users to take advantage of the lower costs of Wi-Fi for remote data access and international phone calls.

"In Switzerland, the real excitement about Wi-Fi is the opportunity for low-cost wireless services, because we have the highest per minute charges in Europe for both GSM and 3G services," said Joerg Furrer, TPN chief executive officer. "We are excited about this wireless future and working with Boingo helps us augment our strong base of local users with business travellers from around the world."

The company's plans call for rapid network and user growth, with an expected total of 600 locations within a year. Internet access kiosks installed by TPN partners at these locations also serve as hot spots for users with Wi-Fi equipped phones, personal digital assistants or laptop computers. Boingo and TPN have begun network integration and expect that Boingo users will be able to use the network by the end of October 2004.
