BOINGO FLIES INTO PARIS WITH ADP TÉLÉCOM
ADDS 400 PARISIAN HOT SPOTS TO ROAMING SYSTEM
Boingo users now have access at Paris airports and key business locations
through roaming agreement with the telecom operator subsidiary of Aéroports de Paris
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - October 27, 2004 - Boingo Wireless today announced a roaming partnership with ADP Télécom, the voice and data network services subsidiary of Aéroports de Paris, to allow Boingo users to roam on its 45 airport, hotel and convention center locations in Paris and key business cities throughout France.
The ADP Télécom network includes both Paris airports, Orly and Roissy Charles de Gaulle, as well as the airports in Lyon, Lille, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulon-Hyères and Nice. The company has also built Wi-Fi hot spots at Paris' two leading conference centers, the Palais de Congrès and Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles, and at nearly 40 hotels in the city including Concorde La Fayette Paris and the Alliance Hospitality chain of Holiday Inn hotels.
The ADP Télécom hot spots will be fully integrated into the Boingo® Roaming System and available for use by subscribers in November 2004. The Boingo Roaming system has more than 11,000 hot spots worldwide and 5,600 throughout Europe.
"This is an important agreement to Boingo because it adds so many key locations for business travelers at the crossroads of Europe," said Dave Hagan, Boingo president and COO. "We were very impressed with ADP Télécom because, thanks to its heritage and experience, it takes a very professional approach to building and operating airport Wi-Fi networks."
"For ADP Télécom, Wi-Fi represents a real business growth area and also a way to bring added services that are valuable to our passengers and which encourage them to return to our airports," said François Deschamps, strategy, marketing & development manager for ADP Télécom. "Becoming a part of Boingo's large roaming system moves us closer to this goal of increased passenger satisfaction."
ADP Télécom offers travelers pre-paid and daily access to its hot spots and is augmenting these services with roaming agreements (with iPass, Tekworld, Gric, Tiscali, Orange) to maximize its network traffic. The partnership with Boingo is potentially the operator's largest such agreement yet, giving network access to tens of thousands of users, including both Boingo subscribers and the subscribers of Boingo's Platform Services partners.
Through its Platform Services offering, Boingo provides service providers with a turnkey Wi-Fi service, including the network, award-winning client access software, and a complete suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services. To date, the company has announced Platform Services agreements with EarthLink, Fiberlink, Infonet Services Corp., MCI and Telecom Italia.
